Career/Education
Patricia began her career as a teacher before going on to study in her chosen field of Psychology and Educational Psychology. She then worked for fifteen years as an Educational Psychologist in a large inner city Psychological Service, providing support for families through assessment, training and therapeutic interventions, before moving into the independent sector. Working within Psychological Services, Patricia specialised in the field of autism, supporting schools and families to achieve the best outcomes for children with ASD before going on to support children suffering from the effects of trauma and attachment issues.
As an Educational Psychologist Patricia contributed to dyslexia policies, engaged in research into wellbeing interventions in schools and provided the lead for an inner city therapeutic service. She also worked as part of a multi-national, multi-disciplinary group supporting psychologists working with complex trauma as a result of conflict and displacement.
Whilst working as a Educational Psychologist Patricia continued to study in order to develop her skills in therapeutic approaches. She completed qualifications and training in a number of evidence based therapists including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR Trauma Therapy and Schema Therapy; this knowledge and experience equips her to work competently with children, adolescents and adults.
After a fulfilling career with a Local Authority Psychological Service, Patricia moved into the private sector with the aim of focusing on those aspects of the job she finds most gratifying- providing therapy and promoting health and well-being in the workplace.
